Driving directions from Faro Airport to Pestana Alvor Beach Hotel
Leave the airport and follow the signs to the highway A22. Take A22 in the direction of Portimão/Lagos. Leave A22 at the exit 4 – Alvor. You will find two roundabouts. Follow the signs to Alvor. First, appears Montes de Alvor after an aerodrome, then signs to Pestana Hotels such as Pestana Alvor Praia, Pestana Delfim, Pestana D. João II Village, Pestana Alvor Atlântico and Pestana Alvor Park. Continue until Alvor village. All Pestana Hotels are clearly signposted from Alvor center.

Travelling to Reach Alvor – by train & bus
- Distance from Faro Airport to Alvor: 67 km
- Travel from Faro to Alvor by Train: No direct train to Alvor; Get the train to Portimão (regional train 4,85€) then a bus to Alvor (1,90 €)
- Travel from Faro to Alvor by Bus: No direct bus to Alvor; Get a bus to Portimão (5,15€) then change bus to Alvor (1,90€)
To get to Faro train or bus station (which are close to each other just before Faro marina) either get the bus from the airport (the stop is right outside the 'arrivals' doors) and will cost you around 1.75€, or get a taxi at a cost of around 10€. To check train timetables visit the C.P website www.cp.pt. (the site is available in English) and select 'Regional and Inter Regional services' to get the timetable for Lagos/Vila Real de Santo António/Lagos. For bus timetables visit www.eva-bus.com. Again most of it is available in English except the 'frequency' on the tables. (Days of the week: Monday is the 2nd day of the week - '2as'-and Friday is the 6th day. 'Sábado' and 'Domingo' - Saturday and Sunday; 'Feriados' is holidays; 'Diariamente' is daily,). Bus times from the 'aeroporto' to Faro are also listed .

Local buses for Alvor
Portimão has a network of local buses that make it very easy to get around the local area very cheaply.always a benefit! The network is called 'Vai e Vem' and the cost per journey is from about 1,30€ to 1,70€ depending on the route, alternatively you can buy a daily ticket for 4,50€ or 5,00€.
